ADAM SYKES d'IRISLIGHT RECORDS

Dancing to "Rocking All Over The world" by Status Quo at the tender age of 8 years old at a primary school disco !

Cocteau Twins "Blood Bitch" - I was fourteen and my friends elder sister played it to us, I loved it! Quite a shift in music since the 8 year old unpleasantness mentioned above!!

Pensiez-vous travailler dans la musique ? Que souhaitiez-vous devenir plus tard ?
I never thought I'd work in music. I wanted to, and did, work in the film industry for four years until I damaged my spine in a car accident and starting a record label seemed like a good idea as I love music and new a lot of people in that industry already 4 Are there any disturbing or nice sounds that have "affected" your childhood ? James Last disturbed me a lot a child, both my parents love his music.

None at all, I was not that musically minded as child. We had Recorder lessons at school as part of the curriculum. It was only when I reach 15 that I wanted to play an instrument, and I taughtmy self bass guitar and guitar.

Being dragged to see James Last in concert in Oslo. In Norway it is illegal to leave a child or children alone in a house until they are16. Myself and my brother were 13 and 11 respectively and myparents wanted to get tickets to see James Last at the Oslo Konserthus, sadly they could not get a child minder for the night so they bought us tickets too and we all went to it - I hated it !

I don't really have a top five before I was 11 as music never played a big part in my life up to then, so my top five is for my pre-teens:

Votre Top 5 de l’enfance

The Jam "Going Underground"
Blondie "Union City Blue"
The Beat "Mirror In The Bathroom"
The Specials "Ghost Town"
Madness "One Step Beyond"
